Priority issues & challenges

1. Road infrastructure

Rural farm-to-market roads are highly fragmented, which severely delays the transport of agricultural produce to primary national highways.

2. Water crisis

Intense fertilizer runoff from vast agricultural estates has caused high nitrate and chemical pollution in the local groundwater channels.

3. Health

Taluka hospitals operate under tight budgetary strains, leaving them with acute shortages of emergency medical officers and life-saving drugs.

4. Unemployment

The rural workforce faces high seasonal unemployment, with off-season joblessness among young agricultural laborers hovering around 30%.

5. Environmental challenges

Unchecked smoke emissions from brick kilns and the dumping of toxic agricultural waste create serious environmental and respiratory hazards.
